The lower part of the Joe Frex Tamper Base KNOCK has a flat surface for pressing the coffee powder and is made of solid Stainless steel , with integrated Silicone ring , manufactured.
Why the name Knock?
After the first tapping of the espresso, the portafilter is lightly tapped on the side, which causes all the coffee powder to fall from the edge into the portafilter. Then it is tamped again.
In order to avoid having to use the tamper base when lightly hitting the portafilter, as this could damage the soft portafilter, the silicone ring incorporated into the base is used for knocking. This invention was developed by the company Joe Frex be protected by law.
